Printer News: Epson Stylus NX415 Can Scan and Copy, But its Strong Suit Lies in Printing Lab-Quality Photos

How can you differentiate between a consumer printer and a business printer? Consumer printers emphasize photos (and single users) whereas business printers emphasize documents (and multiple users). Epson's new Stylus NX415 is a multifunction USB printer with an emphasis on photos. And Epson has shipped it just in time for the back to school shopping season.

The Stylus NX415 sports an LCD screen and prints borderless photos from your Mac or PC, your digital camera via PictBridge, or memory cards. The DURABrite ink and embedded image correction technology (redeye removal, photo restoration, etc.) produces lab-quality results. We saw some photos from this printer at an Epson press event in New York and can attest to their quality.

That said, the Stylus NX415 is no mere photo printer. You'll also find manual double-sided printing (Windows only much to our consternation) and color copying and scanning (flatbed only — clearly geared at photos rather than documents). The price is nice too at $99.99.
