Canon imageRUNNER LBP5280 and LBP3480 Desktop Laser Beam Printers – robust printers for SMBs and Enterprise Workgroups

The imageRUNNER LBP5280 and LBP3480 are Canon’s latest additions to their imageRUNNER line of printers. These desktop models have been designed to meet the printing needs of small and medium sized businesses and enterprise workgroups. The LBP5280 is a color printer while the LBP3480 prints only B&W.

Both models incorporate the RAPID Fusing System which provides exceptional image quality and needs almost zero warm-up time, besides consuming less heat and energy. Fast processing of complex print jobs is boosted by the scalable 768 MB RAM. The LBP5280 is capable of print speeds of up to 21 ppm (Letter) in both B&W and Color. The LBP3480 is faster with speeds of up to 35 ppm (Letter). Standard Automatic Trayless Duplexing is part and parcel of both models, so you can print on both sides of the paper and reduce paper consumption.

Though the standard print resolution is 600 x 600 dpi, you can get crisp sharp text and image output that is equivalent to 2400 x 600 dpi. The 5-line scrolling LCD and user-friendly control panel enables quick and easy navigation and lets you view toner and paper levels as well as status at a glance.

You can connect USB memory devices and USB cards to the two USB ports that are located at the front and back of the printer to facilitate USB-direct printing. With this feature you can directly print PDF, JPEG, TIFF and XPS file formats without using a PC. The Secure Print, Mail Box Print and Email Print features are available with the use of the optional SD card.

The front loading design for paper, toner, fuser and drum makes these printers compact and easy to maintain. You can integrate these printers on the network with imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP systems and set up workflows to route print jobs and inbound faxes to your LBP printers thereby reducing the number of fax lines.

The LBP5280 and LBP3480 printers can be easily managed using Canon’s scalable imageWARE EMC utility that facilitates centralized management of printers and multifunction devices from Canon as well as other vendors.

OKI Data B700 series – Monochrome Laser Printers for demanding workgroups

The OKI Data B700 series of monochrome laser printers include network ready printers with optional/standard duplexing. These printers feature print speeds of 42 ppm (B710n/dn), 47 ppm (B720n/dn) and 52 ppm (B730n/dn), standard 700-sheet paper capacity that can be enhanced to up to 1,800 sheets and 128 MB RAM. You can enhance the standard 128 MB RAM to up to 640 MB to improve the processing capacity for large print jobs.

Paper consumption can be reduced using the duplexing feature. Duplexing is optional in the B710n, B720n and B730n models and available as a standard feature in the B710dn, B720dn and B730dn models. Your organization’s security concerns are adequately addressed by the standard security features that are built into the B700 series. In addition to security protocols like 802.1x Authentication, SNMP v3 and IP Security, OKI has also implemented storage device security. A 6-digit PIN is required for accessing jobs stored on the hard disk or flash memory. The Auto Delete and Secure Erase features delete jobs stored on the hard disk or flash memory.

The Ricoh Aficio MP W5100en and MP W7140en wide format MFPs have been designed to handle the needs of the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) community. Capturing, storing and sharing large documents such as schematics and building plans—it’s all managed in a smooth and easy workflow.

The 8.5” color panel allows you to preview thumbnails of your documents before printing as well as enlarge your files. This enables you to fix problems with page setting and margins thereby reducing paper and toner wastage. The clam-shell design and front loading toner and paper makes for easy replacement of consumables and clearing up paper jams.

The Copy function includes features such as rotation, magnification/reduction, margin adjustment, image overlays and storing documents on the document server. High productivity is assured with the D-size Print/Copy speeds of 14 ppm (W7140en) and 10 ppm (W5100en), and Scan speeds of 1.75 ips–13 ips combined with the Scan-To options.

The versatile color Scan function enables you to easily scan wide format documents, construction drawings, on-site notes and markups and easily distribute them using a wide range of Scan-to options. Scanned documents can be stored on the 320 GB HDD and accessed via the control panel. You can also save your documents onto a USB drive or SD card. Additionally scanned documents can be previewed fully or sectionally as well as edited. The Scan-To options include Email, Folder, Network TWAIN, NCP, FTP, SMB, Document Server and USB/SD.

The WebImageMonitor enables remote management. With this you can remotely view the documents stored on the MFP’s hard disk, check job details, cancel jobs as well as manage security features to protect your documents. Built-in security features like Lock Print and Hold Print will delete the print files stored on the hard disk on completion of the print job. The Stored Print option retains print files on the hard disk even after completion of the print job.

The Locked Print feature will keep your document pending till you physically walk to the printer and input your password. This way you can ensure that your confidential documents don’t get picked up by other users. You can use the Hold Print feature to temporarily hold print jobs in the printer and print them later from your PC or the printer’s control panel.

The standard Java VM card that comes along with the MFPs allows for integration of productivity boosting and feature enhancing applications from Ricoh as well as third party vendors.

Xerox D95/D110/D125 Copier/Printer – Fast, Efficient Light Production Series

The OKIData proColor pro900DP / 905DP Digital Envelope presses have been designed to deliver high capacity, HD Color for short-run production printing. They handle a wide variety of media including Envelopes, Tabloid extra (12” x 18”) and banners up to 12.9” x 47.24”.

The Single Pass Color™ technology and the straight through paper path ensure fast print speeds and smooth paper flow. With Letter/A4 print speeds up to 36 ppm (Color) and 40 ppm (B&W), Tabloid/A3 print speeds of 19 ppm (Color) and 21 ppm (B&W), a 150,000-page maximum monthly duty cycle and long-life toner cartridges, you can be sure of high productivity.

The pro900DP includes embedded EFI Fiery technology, which along with the EFI Workstation Command Utility provides greater print control, job management as well as an optimized workflow. You can save color profiles and templates on the 40 GB hard disk for faster processing and re-printing jobs. OKI’s HD color printing technology, automatic color calibration, on the fly color correction and support for EFI Spot On, PANTONE and SWOP ensure superior quality professional color output on both glossy paper as well as plain paper.

The Auto Media Detect feature automatically adjusts the printer to the media type that you load, while Auto Color Balance ensures consistent color from start to finish of the print job. It can handle customized printing requirements for business documents, marketing collateral, banners and envelopes as well as color printing on cover stock.

The optional duplex printing feature lets you save paper when printing standard business documents and every day prints. The pro900DP/905DP features both High-Speed USB 2.0 as well as Ethernet with Internal Web Server.

Toshiba eSTUDIO 556/656/756/856 MFPs – the Secure, Enterprise workhorses

The Toshiba eSTUDIO 556/656/756/856 MFPs, with monthly duty cycles of 460k/515k/540k/600k pages, have been designed to handle the workloads of large business workgroups. They deliver secure B&W Print, Copy, Fax and Color Scan functionality along with e-Filing and document finishing options.

With print/copy speeds ranging between 55 to 85 ppm, scan speeds of 77 spm (Color) and 80 spm (B&W), these MFPs can not only handle heavy duty but they are also very fast. The standard paper cassettes can handle sheets ranging from Statement-R to Ledger size while the bypass tray can handle Statement-R to 11” x 17” sheets. The optional LCF (Large Capacity Feeder) can handle only Letter size paper. The standard input paper capacity can be enhanced to up to 7,500 sheets with the optional 4,000-sheet LCF. All the paper input channels can handle stock up to 110 lbs. The high-volume input paper capacity and high speeds are complemented by the 73,900-page toner yield to ensure high productivity.

In addition to TIFF, PDF, JPEG and XPS, the Scan function can handle MS-Word, MS-Excel and searchable PDF formats with the advanced scanning option. The 9” full color touch screen panel is intuitive and easy to use. You can walk right up to the printer and use the conveniently located front USB port to print from or scan to your USB drive. Connectivity features include standard Ethernet as well as wireless.

Using the e-Filing function that is integrated into the MFP, you can securely store and print documents on demand. The e-Filing functionality can be operated either via the touch screen control panel or from the client PC. It consists of 1 public box and up to 200 private user boxes that can handle 100 folders/box, 400 documents/folder and 1000 pages/document.

Toshiba has incorporated security features like Self Encrypting Drive technology, Automatic Drive Invalidation, HDD Overwrite (which meets Department of Defense’s standards), data encryption and support for LDAP, SMTP and Windows Server Domain authentication.

These MFPs include Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE™ technology that enables seamless integration with third-party solutions. Not only fast and capable of heavy duty and high performance, they are also eco-friendly. They are RoHS compliant, are part of Toshiba’s free toner recycling program and in the Super Sleep Mode, they only consume 1 watt of power.
